The Counter - Hollywood, CA
This place was pretty good. I had heard about this place from my boyfriend, he claimed it to be ‘the shit’. So when I went on a field trip with my french class to the director’s guild of america to watch french films, I decided to try it with my good friend Gilbert. He exaggerated the prices of it, claiming to be ‘expensive as fuck’. It wasn’t that bad. The Counter is a place where you can either order, or customize your burgers. So me and Gilbert customized ours. Gilbert got the 1/3 lb patty, sauteed onions, sharp cheddar, roasted corn, lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard cooked medium well. I got a 1/3 lb patty as well, sauteed onions, provolone, lettuce, tomato, chipotle aioli, and mushrooms grilled medium. Since it was my first time, I was exactly able to make the best tasting burger ever, but it was still delicious! It costs $15 to customize a burger, and I personally found it well worth it. On top of our order we got sweet potato fries which were paired with the chipotle aioli. Overall, a good experience. I definitely recommend this!
Hole Mole - Long Beach, CA
I have heard some good things about this place and while I was at CSULB for the WGASC finals, me and @jaelyntara decided to drop by. First off, this place was pretty cheap and fairly good. It wasn’t exactly breath-taking but it’s enough for satisfaction. We ordered shrimp ceviche, a chicken burrito, a shrimp taco, two fish tacos, a potato taco, and fried ice cream. Over all it was some alright food, I wouldn’t exactly deem it a “must see” but if you’re in the area go by and try it. I really liked the fried ice cream and the shrimp and fish taco.
My section sweetie Jessica made me a blue velvet cupcake yesterday. It was delicious. :)
Hi Jaelyn. No thanks. :P
Lovely followers I owe you a post for The Counter and Hole Mole :)
Oreo Rice Krispie Treats
1/4 cup salted butter
1 (10.5) oz bag mini marshmallows (note: if you have an extra bag, you can add an additional cup of marshmallows, if desired. I recommend it.)
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
10 oreos, chopped into bits (about the size of pebbles, there will be powder too), about 1 cup
1 1/3 cups white chocolate chips
6 oreos, chopped into bits (about the size of pebbles), about 1/2 cupButter or spray a 13 x 9 pan, set aside. Melt butter in a large non-stick saucepan over medium low heat, swirling butter up along edges of the pan (this helps the marshmallows stick much less). Stir in marshmallows and stir constantly until melted. Remove from heat and gently stir in Rice Krispies cereal, stir until evenly coated. Fold in 10 chopped Oreos. Pour mixture into buttered dish. Using a buttered spatula or greased hands gently press mixture evenly into dish, set aside. In a microwave safe bowl, melt white chocolate chips on 50% power in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval until melted and smooth. Spread melted chocolate evenly over Rice Krispie treats and immediately (before chocolate hardens) sprinkle with 6 chopped Oreos. Gently press the Oreo pieces down with your hands. Cover and refrigerate about 10 minutes, or alternately let rest on counter until chocolate hardens.
